Socio-Economics

The Centre for Socio-Eco-Nomic Development (CSEND) aims at promoting equitable, sustainable and integrated development through multi-stakeholder dialogues, institutional learning and free flow of information.

CSEND supports human progress through an integrative balance of individual, group, societal and environmental needs whereby self-interest, concern for others and respect for other cultures and for the environment are seen as synergistic, rather than antagonistic factors of human life and societal development.

CSEND's mission is to serve as a centre of knowledge and innovation in socio-economic research and development. Its objective is to facilitate the advancement and practical application of socio-economic theory to support sustainable development and social change.

CSEND works to enhance effective interfacing between different social, economic and political actors in a dynamic social system and to strengthen better governance through multi-stakeholder dialogue and policy deliberations and negotiations.
